Place to stay?

Postby PittsfieldMom » Sun Jul 27, 2008 12:09 am

Hello - we are taking a vacation in August and wanted some advice on a place to stay in York for a few of the days. Could someone please advise? We have 3 boys ages 15,13 and 11. Will the water be cold then? It's been a long time since we have been to York, and it seems there is a lot to choose from for places to stay.

Your options are unlimited - you would need to narrow it down further to more specifics of what you are looking for. I'm not sure you'd need a pool with water temps in August so that opens your possibilities up quite a bit. Water temp today was upper 60s. It's a little known fact that the harbor beach runs a few degrees warmer than Long Sands because the water has less current, and benefits from the outgoing tide of the York River.

Options for that area would be the York Harbor Inn or the Stage Neck Inn. Parking is restricted to residents so walking from either hotel is a good choice, and you won't go wrong with the meals at either place. Pretty stunning views from either also.
