Spring!

So the calendar reads March, and most of the snow is gone in southern Maine, but don’t be fooled… as most of us that live in the seacoast area of southern Maine realize, March is really the tail end of winter. I am certainly expecting at least one more decent snowfall for sure. I have been told snow in the spring is good for the grass that’s desperately trying to rejuvenate anyway. And for you winter sports enthusiasts, is there anything much better than spring skiing?

Well, guess what? The real estate market really has made a turn in the positive direction! Honestly, since the 1st of the year, there has definitely been an increase in buyers looking for properties. It does seem that there are more showings and longer negotiations before arriving at the closing table, which requires an extra level of patience for buyers, sellers and realtors. Inventory is still on the low side, so if you're considering selling, don't wait until the heart of spring, where you'll be facing more competition.....list now for those buyers looking to move in the spring / summer.

Soon here in York we'll begin to see some of our local seasonal businesses preparing to open, such as The Goldenrod , Brown's Old Fashioned Ice Cream, and York's Wild Kingdom . Look for opening days between mid-May and Memorial day, to welcome our much loved summer season!

I encourage you to contact your local lender and Realtor with questions if you are thinking of buying or selling property....

    Enjoy, Cindy
